What happened to Jakob Poeltl? Injury update Monday 10/27/25 vs. Spurs

Jakob Poeltl was dealing with a back issue during the preseason and his stats to start the season have been poor. After averaging double-digit points, around nine rebounds and over a block per game for the last five seasons, Poeltl was averaging eight points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.3 blocks in 22.7 mpg through three games this season. On Monday, he left in the fourth quarter due to a sore back.

Prior to exiting, Poeltl contributed two points, two rebounds, an assist and a block in 24 minutes.

Sandro Mamukelashvili is the backup center, but he likely won’t see more than 20 mpg. Collin Murray-Boyles is only 6’7, but he’s 245 pounds and has been playing small-ball center this season. Those two would likely soak up most of the center minutes if Poeltl is out for an extended period of time.
