The Jets are still winless as they enter Week 8 against the Bengals. With each loss, the dumpster fire that is the Jets’ organization grows larger.
Cincinnati is coming off a 33-31 victory against the Steelers, giving the Bengals a 3-4 record.
New York is a six-point underdog on the road and +230 on the moneyline, while Cincinnati is -285 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 44.5 points.
Here are my favorite player props for this Week 8 NFL game between the Jets and Bengals.
Jets vs. Bengals Best Prop Bets
Ja’Marr Chase over 7.5 receptions (-119), over 86.5 receiving yards (-112), anytime TD (-130)
Alright, let’s start off with a banger. These prop bets can be taken as singles, two-leg parlays or a three-leg parlay for +230 value on DraftKings Sportsbook. All three are excellent plays, not just because the Jets are struggling, but the Bengals are making a priority to get Ja’Marr Chase the ball.
Since Joe Flacco arrived via trade, the veteran quarterback has connected with Chase on 26-of-35 targets for 255 yards and two touchdowns. That’s across two games. These are absurd numbers, and it’s likely to keep happening.
Flacco airs the ball out often, throwing the ball 45 and 47 times in the first two games with Cincinnati. It’s the fourth time this season he’s totaled at least 45 pass attempts, and he hasn’t fallen below 34 attempts in six games.
Flacco was throwing often even without a top-five wide receiver. It makes perfect sense for him to keep throwing to the best player on the field, especially since Sauce Gardner is out with a concussion.
Chase has scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks as well as hitting the over for both the receptions and receiving yards lines. It doesn’t matter who’s guarding him, or who’s throwing him the ball. Chase will get the job done.
Breece Hall under 14.5 yards – longest rush (-105)
There aren’t many bright spots for New York this season. The quarterback play is egregious, with owner Woody Johnson making public comments on the play. The starting quarterback job is up for grabs with Tyrod Taylor potentially taking over for Justin Fields.
Garrett Wilson remains out, so the passing game is even worse, regardless of who the starter is. It puts a lot of pressure on Breece Hall, who has a questionable tag ahead of this matchup. If he’s available, he’ll likely get the bulk of the carries with Braelon Allen still out.
Although the Bengals have a poor run defense, ranking 27th in yards, 25th in carries and 22nd in touchdowns, they don’t have as many weapons to guard against the Jets. The pass game isn’t a worry without Wilson, so it allows the team to stack the box against Hall.
Hall will likely get a lot of touches, but it’s unlikely that he’s rushes more than 14.5 yards at once.
