National Tight End Day: Best Week 8 Tight End Prop Bets

This Sunday, Oct. 26th, the NFL is celebrating National Tight End Day and below, I dive into two of my favorite tight end player props for Week 8 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Tight End Player Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Dallas Goedert 50+ Receiving Yards (-126)

Amid plenty of trade rumors surrounding his name, A.J. Brown (hamstring) will be out Sunday vs. the Giants. The receiver leads the Eagles with a 27.4% target share this season and with Brown sidelined, Goedert should see an expanded role. The tight end played four games with Brown inactive last season and Goedert saw a target on a team-high 27% of his routes in those contests, resulting in 81.3 receiving yards per game.

Goedert finished with at least 52 receiving yards in three of those four games, including a 55-yard showing vs. the Giants, who he will face again Sunday. New York is allowing the 16th-most receiving yards to tight ends this season (358), so this is an average matchup, but Goedert’s increased usage with Brown sidelined trumps the concerns about this matchup and he is an excellent bet to reach 50+ receiving yards in this situation.

Colston Loveland O 33.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Cole Kmet (back) will be out Sunday, making Loveland the Bears’ starting tight end. Kmet exited last Sunday’s win over the Saints after logging 40.6% of the snaps and with him missing for most of the contest, Loveland stepped up and caught three of his four targets for 24 yards, despite only running a route on 64% of his team’s dropbacks.

With Kmet inactive this Sunday, Loveland should run a route on most of his team’s dropbacks and the 10th overall pick from this past NFL draft should have no trouble clearing 33.5 receiving yards in this prime matchup vs. the Ravens. Loveland is earning a target on 16% of his routes this season and Baltimore has been very susceptible to tight ends this season, allowing the highest completion percentage (90.7%) and the second-most yards per catch to the position (9.3).
