Tonight’s matchup between Kevin Durant’s Houston Rockets and Cade Cunningham’s Detroit Pistons looks like one of the most fun ones on the NBA schedule. Both sides made the 2025 playoffs and have high expectations for the young season, but this contest gets even more interesting as Amen and Ausar Thompson go head-to-head in a battle between twin brothers. There’s plenty of reason to tune in and myriad options for betting cards as well.

Best Pistons vs. Rockets prop bets
Alperen Sengun over 1.5 three-pointers made (+186)
The Rockets’ star center put on a masterclass on Opening Night with 39 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists against the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Sengun’s defensive contributions in that game also stood out with three stocks, but the expansion of another area of his game truly stole the show. The 6-foot-11 big man has never excelled from long range, nor has he shown much desire to take three-pointers — that entirely changed on Tuesday night when he bombed away with eight attempts and connected on six shots from beyond the arc. These weren’t just catch and shoot looks with nothing but open space, either. Sengun took a couple off the dribble and from deep range.
He made just 21 of 90 attempts from three last season, but the eight shots from distance in the opener matched roughly 8.8% of his total looks from beyond the arc in that entire campaign. If Sengun has truly expanded his range and feels comfortable hitting three-pointers, he’s in line for an All-NBA leap. DraftKings Sportsbook lists his threes line at O/U 1.5, and with +186 odds on the over, that’s a bet absolutely worth taking on Friday night.
Cade Cunningham over 13.5 AST + REB (-121)
One of my favorite prop bets last season over Cade Cunningham’s combined assists and rebounds line. The reasoning here is pretty simple, really — the Pistons’ superstar embodies everything you could ask for in an oversized guard. At 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, he brings great size to the table and isn’t afraid to use his body to crash the boards. Cunningham averaged 6.1 rebounds per game last season and will absolutely be called on to pull down rebounds tonight against a jumbo lineup that includes 6-foot-7 Amen Thompson as the shortest starter in the Rockets’ starting five. The Pistons will need all the help they can get on the glass, but Cunningham’s also one of the league’s most talented playmakers and dished out 9.1 assists per game last year. He’s the focal point of the offense and commands a high usage rate, so scoring will flow through him.
In the opening game of his 2025-26 campaign against the Chicago Bulls, Cunningham pulled down seven rebounds and issued 10 assists for a combined 17 AST + REB. He’d have easily gone over tonight’s line of 13.5, and going back to last season, the guard went over this line in 49 of 76 total games. That’s a wild hit rate, so I’m hammering the over tonight and will continue to do with glee into the foreseeable future.
