During the offseason, the Minnesota Vikings hedged their bets against Aaron Jones’ decline by trading for Jordan Mason. The 26-year-old looked great as Christian McCaffrey’s backup in San Francisco, and GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah thought he was capable of more. That turned out to be a great bet, as he’s seized the starting job by the horns and isn’t looking back. The Los Angeles Chargers will be the next team to face his wrath on Thursday Night Football.
The Chargers are three-point favorites for this one, with the Vikings +145 underdogs on the moneyline. The points total is set at O/U 44.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Below is my favorite Mason prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s game.
Best Jordan Mason Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Mason has been the starter for the last four games in Jones’ absence. He’s received at least 13 carries in each of those four games, rushed for at least 52 yards, and punched in four scores on the ground. A model of consistency between the tackles, Mason constantly looks to punish opposing defenders with his brutal run style that’s reminiscent of Brandon Jacobs. He wants to put his helmet straight through your chest.
Mason’s running is going to be crucial to Minnesota’s success on Thursday. Carson Wentz is as liable to lose you the game all by himself as he is to win it. Against an uncharacteristically soft Chargers run defense, they’ll have to lean on their bowling ball running back to keep the chains moving, and convert in the red zone.
Luckily for Mason, he’s facing a defense that has allowed 10 rushing scores on the year. That’s the fourth-most in the league. I’m surprised his anytime touchdown odds are plus money. Count on Jordan Mason to find the end zone once again.
