The Mavericks and Spurs begin their 2025-26 seasons facing each other in Dallas on Wednesday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Mavericks are favored by 2.5 points and this game carries a total of 224.5 points.

Victor Wembanyama O 24.5 Points (-117)
Wembanyama looks poised to fully enter superstar status this season and he should see a massive role Wednesday with De’Aaron Fox (hamstring) and Jeremy Sochan (wrist) both out. Last season, Wembanyama averaged 25 PPG in the eight games he played without Fox and Sochan, and with these two players off the floor, Wembanyama’s usage rate increased to 32.3%.
Albeit in the preseason, Wembanyama’s shot looked terrific, with him shooting 65.4% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. Tonight, Wembanyama is facing a Mavericks team that yielded the second-most points in the paint last season and that will be without Daniel Gafford (doubtful, ankle). Wembayama should start his third season with a bang in this spot and he is a great bet for over 24.5 points.
Klay Thompson O 12.5 Points (-121)
With Kyrie Irving (knee) sidelined, Thompson will be asked to do more scoring for the Mavericks for the foreseeable future. Thompson played 29 games without Irving last season and Thompson averaged 14.6 PPG in those tilts with a 23.3% usage rate.
The Spurs ranked 25th in defensive rating and allowed the third-most made three pointers last season, and scoring over 12.5 points shouldn’t be difficult for Thompson in this appealing spot. In two of his four matchups with San Antonio last season, Thompson scored at least 22 points.
Luke Kornet O 12.5 Points + Rebounds (-125)
After a strong campaign with the Celtics last season, in which he averaged 6.0 and 5.3 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game as the team’s backup center, Kornet landed himself a four-year, $41 million dollar deal with the Spurs this offseason. The veteran will operate as Wembanyama’s main backup this season and Kornet also should see some playing time alongside Wembanyama tonight with Sochan unavailable.
Kornet should handle around 20 minutes of work tonight and with this type of role, over 12.5 PR is very obtainable for the big man. With 18.1 minutes per game in the preseason, Kornet was awesome, averaging 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 79.3% from the field, and he cleared 12.5 PR in all five of these contests.
