Let’s start with Frankfurt. It was a dream start to their UCL league phase, beating Galatasaray 5-1 at home. They were then brought back to reality, losing 5-1 to Atlético Madrid in Spain.
Funnily enough, Liverpool have faced the same two teams to start the league phase. They beat Atlético 3-2 at home in their opening match before losing 1-0 away to the Turkish side.
In three of the four games these sides have played in, over 1.5 goals have easily been scored.
Next, we get to Liverpool winning this one. Yes, they are on a four-game losing streak in all competitions, but that won’t last forever. Wednesday’s game feels like the perfect get-right spot for the reigning English champions. Frankfurt aren’t exactly red hot at the moment, as they are winless in their last three games, including a 5-1 loss to Atlético, a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich and most recently a 2-2 draw with SC Freiburg.
Expect the Reds to get back on track in this one. They will have all the motivation in the world to not only win this, but also put in a great performance while doing so. A dominant performance will certainly quieten the noise around the team at the moment, which has got very loud, very quickly.
