Anthony Edwards Injury Update: Wednesday 10/22/25 vs. Trail Blazers

The Minnesota Timberwolves tip off their 2025-26 season on Wednesday night, with the caveat that a superstar finds himself on the injury report ahead of the contest. Shooting guard Anthony Edwards is questionable for Wednesday’s season opener against the Trail Blazers due to a back issue.

The injury designation may not necessarily be anything serious, and one can probably expect him to play on Wednesday night. However, his status will remain one to keep an eye on for prop bet and DFS lineup purposes.

Edwards earned his second All-NBA nod last season with a career-best 27.6 PPG along with 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per outing. He shot 44.7% from the field but converted three-pointers at a 39.5% clip, another career-high for the 24-year-old. He also took his defensive play up a notch, working as a two-way threat who could challenge the NBA’s best on the perimeter.

The Timberwolves made few major moves over the offseason and are running back a similar core, so Edwards remains the clear focal point of the team’s offense. If he misses Wednesday’s contest, Donte DiVincenzo likely shifts up into the starting lineup in his place and could serve as a value in DraftKings DFS contests.

The Timberwolves went 43-33 during the 2024-25 campaign en route to the franchise’s fourth straight playoff appearance. Minnesota made it to the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive postseason but ultimately fell to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder in five games.
