First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets for Texans vs. Seahawks on Monday Night Football

Updated:

By: Garion Thorne

It’s the both the second-most important Monday Night Football game of the evening and the second-most important event on a Seattle sports fan’s calendar. I’m not trying to downplay the significance of this tilt between the Texans and the Seahawks, but a 10:00 p.m. ET start time is always a little weird and, let’s just be honest, Buccaneers vs. Lions has more juice.

Still, that doesn’t mean the DraftKings Sportsbook won’t have hundreds of props available to bet. For this article, let’s focus on a couple picks for tonight’s first touchdown scorer.

Texans vs. Seahawks First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

Zach Charbonnet First Touchdown Scorer (+650)

While Kenneth Walker III (+800) tends to be the lead back in Seattle’s committee, it’s Charbonnet who gets the majority of the goal line work. In fact, not only has Charbonnet seen 66.7% of the Seahawks’ rushing attempts inside the opponent’s five-yard line, but he’s seen the seventh-most carries inside the five of any running back in the NFL (6). If that is going to be continue to be Charbonnet’s role in Week 7, he should get the opportunity to find the end zone early against the Texans — at least that’s how Houston’s past opponent’s have tried to score. An NFL-high 62.5% of touchdowns surrendered by the Texans have come on the ground so far this season. Conversely, a league-low 16.7% of Seattle’s conceded touchdowns have come on running plays. Speaking of…

Xavier Hutchinson First Touchdown Scorer (+2000)

Xavier Hutchinson feels like a decent dart throw at some long odds for first touchdown scorer. First and foremost, Hutchinson has established himself as the clear WR2 to Nico Collins (+750) in this offense, filling in for the departed Stefon Diggs and the injured Tank Dell. The former sixth-round pick has logged a 64.9% snap share and he’s also in possession of a 92.5% route rate. Maybe more importantly, Hutchinson established himself as a viable high-leverage target in the Texans’ most recent contest, catching a pair of touchdowns versus the Ravens in Week 5. That’s obviously not going to be the case each and every contest, yet it’s a sign that Hutchinson is creating some chemistry with C.J. Stroud (+3500). Look for Hutchison to be a serious factor in a matchup with a Seahawks secondary that’s allowing 2.0 opponent passing scores per game since Week 4.
