UPDATE: Jayden Daniels has officially been ruled out for the remainder of today’s matchup against the Cowboys. The Commanders are calling it a hamstring injury, and his status will be worth monitoring throughout the week.
Washington Commanders’ star quarterback Jayden Daniels has left today’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Daniels was sacked by LB Shemar James and lost a fumble on the play. Even more concerning than the turnover, Daniels came up grabbing his leg, and limped off the field.
Daniels went to the medical tent to be evaluated and then was taken to the locker room for further tests. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year did jog out of the tent, but his availability is in question both in the short term and moving forward. He is officially listed as questionable to return.
It is also worth noting that Daniels has missed two weeks already this season due to a knee sprain. This is the same leg that he injured on this play, and he was still actively wearing a brace at the time of the play.
