What happened to George Springer? Live injury updates vs. Mariners Friday 10/17/25

In the top of the seventh inning of Friday’s ALCS Game 5 against the Seattle Mariners, Blue Jays outfielder George Springer took a 1-1 pitch right off the side of the right kneecap. After spending a minute on the ground, he tried to walk it off but was eventually removed from the game.

Prior to exiting, Springer went 1-for-3 with a strikeout and an RBI. Joey Loperfido subbed into the game in his place.

This article will be updated with more details on the star’s injury when they’re made available.

At the time Springer was injured, the Blue Jays led the Mariners 2-1. Game 6 of the ALCS will be on Sunday in Toronto.
