Six weeks into the NFL season, it is officially time to start looking into fantasy football trades.
Whether you’re fighting for a playoff spot and looking for a Hail Mary, or you’re undefeated and trying to prey on the desperate teams, there is a large enough sample size to start some serious conversations about how to move forward. Injuries have left plenty of managers short-handed, as have disappointing starts from some notable stars.
Fantasy football trades are always tough to get across the finish line, so it could take a while for a deal to come together. Before Week 7 gets underway, it’s time to take stock of where certain players of note stand — like A.J. Brown, Drake London, Brian Thomas Jr., Ja’Marr Chase, Ladd McConkey, CeeDee Lamb, Alvin Kamara, Chase Brown, Derrick Henry and Jaylen Waddle. Breece Hall Fantasy Value
Few players were as disappointing from a fantasy standpoint as Breece Hall was in 2024. He broke out in 2023, finishing that season as RB7 after converting 299 touches into 1,585 yards and nine touchdowns. Instead of taking an even bigger step forward, though, Hall’s production plateaued. He was RB18 in 2024, going for 1,359 yards and eight touchdowns on 266 touches. Hall’s draft stock heading into 2025 varied drastically from platform-to-platform, but he was typically viewed as a fourth or fifth-round pick, anywhere between RB15 and RB20.
Hall seemed to prove the doubters wrong against the Steelers in Week 1, when he rushed for 107 yards and added another 38 as a receiver. He totaled 38 and 52 yards from scrimmage the next two games, however. Hall bounced back with 111 yards in Week 4 and 155 yards in Week 5, only to fall back down to Earth with 59 scrimmage yards in Week 6. He also didn’t get a single target last Sunday against the Denver Broncos after averaging 4.8 per game up to that point. So far this season, Hall is averaging a career-high 68.3 rushing yards per game and a career-low 25.0 receiving yards per game. His 93.3 scrimmage yards per game are right in line with his career mark of 91.0, so the inconsistency is evening out to a typical season by Hall’s standards.
The issue for Hall, above everything else, is the lack of touchdowns. Not only has he failed to find the end zone in 2025, but he has only really come close once. The 24-year-old has garnered four carries and four targets inside the 20 through six games, with only three of his 105 touches coming inside the 10. Hall, who is averaging 11.8 fantasy points per game, is currently RB23.
Should I trade Breece Hall?
Hall has been fine in a non-fantasy sense this season, but his lack of scoring and red-zone work have made him a low-end RB2 or run-of-the-mill FLEX at best. To feel good about Hall as a serious RB2 moving forward, those factors would have to change. The Jets have scored four rushing touchdowns all season, three of which have come from Justin Fields. Braelon Allen added the other. Having a mobile quarterback vulture touchdowns away from Hall isn’t ideal as a fantasy owner, nor was Allen’s role as the goal-line back.
In total, New York has run 20 plays inside the 10 this season – good for 3.3 per game. That is limiting Hall’s opportunities to score, regardless of Fields siphoning chances. Having a good running back on a bad offense can only get you so far, especially when that good running back isn’t even getting the most valuable touches. Trading Hall could be a smart play at the moment, since he has shown enough flashes to carry some value.
Try selling other teams on Allen’s MCL sprain, which is set to knock him out for 8-12 weeks. The backfield now belongs to Hall, who had a 73.7% snap share on offense in Week 6. As for his lack of touchdowns, see who buys into the statistical fallacy that “he’s due,” even though Fields and the Jets’ anemic offense are likely to limit him moving forward too.
What trade package could Breece Hall fetch?
Look for a running back-needy team, and there could be a few. James Conner is out for the year, while Omarion Hampton, Bucky Irving, Chuba Hubbard, Aaron Jones and Trey Benson have yet to return. James Cook and Derrick Henry, meanwhile, are on bye. Hall has outperformed Chase Brown, TreVeyon Henderson and Isiah Pacheco, three busts who were drafted somewhat near each other. The waiver wire hasn’t been ripe with startable ball-carriers this season, either, so whoever didn’t get Rico Dowdle, Kimani Vidal, Michael Carter or Bam Knight is bound to be desperate.
Your opponent’s level of desperation will decide how much you can get for them. Maybe you can flip Hall for Rashee Rice, Jaylen Waddle, Brian Thomas Jr. or Courtland Sutton. If you want to build out a bigger deal, add someone like Tre Tucker or D.J. Moore to Hall and you could net both a running back and receiver. Jacory Croskey-Merritt or D’Andre Swift could be fits at running back if paired with Michael Pittman Jr. or Tetairoa McMillan.
