Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk will miss at least a month due to a right hand injury, per head coach Travis Green.
Tkachuk, the Senators’ captain, was initially injured during Monday’s game against the Nashville Predators. He was cross-checked into the board during the first period of that contest. While he did finish the game, he’ll miss four weeks at a minimum with surgery as a potential option.
In three games this season, Tkachuk has recorded three points, all of which came via assists. He scored 55 points in 72 contests for the Senators last season during something of a down year, but tallied 74 and 83 in the two campaigns prior.
The season has only just begun, but Ottawa is 1-2-0 through the first week of action. Tkachuk’s loss is undoubtedly a major blow as the team now looks to replace its first-line winger and captain.
