Despite reports indicating that Hassan Haskins ($4,500) would be the Chargers’ lead back in Week 6, Kimani Vidal ($5,500) took the reins against the Dolphins. He finished with 25.8 FPTS, while Haskins had 3.3 FPTS.
Vidal logged 67.2% of the snaps and rushed 18 times for 124 yards, resulting in 6.9 YPC. He also caught three of his four targets for 14 yards and a touchdown.
Vidal’s 18 carries resulted in a 75% rush share for Los Angeles, including six redzone carries, while Haskins only saw 25% of the carries. Vidal also held the clear edge over Haskins in the passing game. Justin Herbert targeted Vidal four times on 21 routes and Haskins one time on eight routes.
Los Angeles won 29-27 on the road in Miami with Vidal playing a featured role. Given the team’s success, the 24-year-old should continue to see an immense workload in Week 7, when the Chargers host the Colts. Indianapolis’ defense is the 20th-highest graded unit on PFF this season, and DraftKings Sportsbook lists Los Angeles as a 1.5-point home favorite with a 24.5-point implied team total. Additionally, this game’s 48.5-point total is the third-highest of Week 7.
Vidal brings huge upside in this terrific setting, making him a top-10 running back for Week 7. At only $5,400 for DraftKings DFS, Vidal will likely be a very popular play for Sunday’s main slate. Still, he will be tough to fade at such low salary.
