UPDATE: Nacua returned to the game in the second half, but did not register a reception or target. Head coach Sean McVay voiced his concern following the game. McVay said Nacua’s status is uncertain next week when the Rams will travel to London to take on the Jaguars. Los Angeles is also now referring to the issue as an ankle injury.
Nacua’s status will be worth monitoring throughout the week and as the Week 7 matchup gets closer. The Rams are sure to go through the full diagnostic process and provide any medical attention he needs, with adrenaline having now worn off.
This will be one of the bigger storylines around the league this week as both the Rams and Jaguars will enter the matchup with a 4-2 record.
UPDATE: Puka Nacua has officially returned to today’s matchup wth the Colts. The star wide receiver spent some extended time getting warmed up coming out of halftime, but has officially checked into the game and will look to resume his high level of production.
UPDATE: The Rams are officially listing Nacua as questionable to return, along with Blake Corum. More updates will be added as the team provides them.
Rams’ star wide receiver Puka Nacua left today’s matchup with the Ravens with a foot injury. Nacua came down hard following a 50/50 ball in the end zone with just under 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter. He looked to be in pain upon landing and then worked his way to his feet before going back down on the turf and needing some help from the Rams’ team trainers. He walked to the locker room under his own power and under the supervision of the Rams’ training staff.
This is a huge hit to the Rams’ offensive attack with Nacua off to one of the best historical starts in NFL history. Through the opening five games, he led the NFL with 62 targets, 52 receptions, and has added two receiving touchdowns. He is on pace to break the single-season receiving yardage record if he can remain healthy and sustain this level of play.
Before leaving today’s game, he notched two receptions for 28 yards.
