UPDATE: Following the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski clarified with reporters that it is a knee injury, not a thigh issue, that David Njoku is dealing with. The Browns suffered a 23-9 loss to the Steelers to drop to 1-5 on the season. Njoku did not record a reception or target after returning to the game.
Keep an eye on the tight end’s outlook as the week progresses. Cleveland is sure to give him a more thorough evaluation now that the game is complete. Rookie tight end Harold Fanin Jr. led the team in receptions today, pulling in seven of his 10 targets for 81 receiving yards.
There are plenty of issues with this Browns team, and Njoku’s injury issues are now another on the list. Keep an eye on the Browns’ injury report as the week progresses.
David Njoku has taken a beating during today’s battle between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. He has left the game due to injury twice in the matchup and was forced to be taken to the locker room with a thigh injury and is listed as questionable to return by the team.
He has taken notable hits throughout the matchup, but this issue sparked up on a reception across the middle. Njoku took a huge hit from Steelers’ safety Juan Thornhill.
Njoku was targeted six times and pulled in three receptions for 28 yards before leaving the game. It was originally considered a leg issue when he left the game the first time.
More updates will be added as they are provided by the Browns.
