Sunday Night Football features a great matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions have bounced back after losing in Week 1 and are 4-1 as they head to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to face the reigning AFC Champions. The Chiefs also lost Week 1 but haven’t been able to bounce back as well and are only 2-3 after losing last week on Monday Night Football to the Jaguars. Both sides are stacked with plenty of superstars on offense, and one of the most dynamic players to watch is Lions tight end Sam LaPorta. Let’s take a look at his top prop bets this week on Sunday Night Football.
The Chiefs are 2.5-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total at an elevated 51.5. Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bets centered around LaPorta.

Sam LaPorta Under 46.5 Receiving Yards (-111)
LaPorta went off last week for five catches on six targets for a season-high 92 yards and his first touchdown of the season. He was very involved as the Lions cruised past the Bengals, and was able to take advantage of the favorable matchup.
However, this week, he has a much tougher matchup against the Chiefs. Kansas City has allowed under 33 yards to tight ends each of the last four weeks, and they have yet to give up a tight-end touchdown all season. They allowed Tyler Conklin to get 50 yards against them in Week 1 (mostly on one big play), but 30 yards from Mark Andrews in Week 4 was the second-highest total against the Chiefs.
While LaPorta went over this total last week, he had been held under this total in each of his three previous games. He has been more consistently involved this year than last year, with at least three catches in every contest, but his yardage has been relatively low.
The Lions could go with a more run-heavy attack based on the matchup against Kansas City on the road, so even though LaPorta has big-play potential, I think he’ll end up under 47 yards for this prop.
