The Mariners beat the Blue Jays 3-1 in Game 1 of the ALCS on Sunday night. George Springer opened the scoring for Toronto with a solo home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the first. It was all Seattle from there, however, as Cal Raleigh hit a solo homer of his own that was then followed by two more runs from two Jorge Polanco singles.
Now the series moves to Game 2 on Monday night. The Blue Jays open as -132 favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the Mariners +108 road underdogs. The run total is set at O/U 7.5. The game is slated to start at 5:03 p.m. ET.
The Blue Jays are going to Trey Yesavage in this pivotal Game 2. It will be his second start of the postseason, as he also pitched in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees. He threw 5.1 innings in that one, striking out 11 batters and allowing no hits. Another performance like that on Monday would go a long way.
Logan Gilbert will be on the mound for Seattle in what will be his third appearance of the postseason. He pitched 8.0 innings over two games in the Tigers series, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out nine.
The Mariners are now favorites to advance, needing three more wins in this best-of-seven series. They are -240 on DraftKings Sportsbook to move on to the World Series, with the Blue Jays now +195 underdogs.
