We’ve got a matchup between NFC heavyweights on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the late afternoon window. Both teams lead their respective divisions at 4-1 and are tied for the best record in the NFL. It’s a showdown between contenders that’s filled with stars, including Christian McCaffrey. All eyes are on his prop bets.

Christian McCaffrey Under 56.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
The sheer workload that McCaffrey is handling this season is astounding. The former OPOY is averaging 18 carries and eight receptions per game through five games. With the 49ers’ offense falling apart at the seams due to injuries, he’s been the one constant, and they lean on him heavily.
That has also allowed defenses to lean on him, stacking the box at will and daring backup QB Mac Jones to beat them. The funny thing is, Jones has, but they still want to take away McCaffrey’s running, first and foremost. McCaffrey is averaging only 3.1 yards per carry this season, which is far and away a career low; his rookie season mark of 3.7 YPC is the only comparable number he’s put up.
That’s going to be a problem against this stout Buccaneers front seven. Vita Vea is as good a gap filler as there is in the league, with an elite run stopper in Lavonte David roving around behind him to clean up the mess. It’s as good a formula as McCaffrey has faced all season long.
San Francisco finds a way week in and week out. But, so far, the solution has not been the ground game. That will continue to be the case on Sunday.
