Arch Manning 210+ passing yards (-106)
Few players in college football have began a season with as much hype, and pressure, as Arch Manning. Thus far, the 21-year-old has not met the moment. Through five games, he’s thrown for 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns while tossing five interceptions. Even worse, Texas is fresh off of an upset 29-21 loss last week against Florida. For extended stretches, this offense has looked downright stagnant under Manning’s leadership. That’s not a good look for someone who began 2025 as a Heisman favorite.
In spite of the past two months, Manning should only get better as the season progresses. After all, this is still his first year as a full-time starter. Growing pains are to be expected (albeit not to this degree). In three of his five appearances, the sophomore has managed to throw for at least 260 passing yards. It won’t be easy doing so tonight against a ferocious Oklahoma defense. Still, a second half Sooners lead could force the Longhorns into more obvious passing situations. Admittedly, there aren’t many stats suggesting Arch is due for a breakout. However, at a certain point talent has to come through. In this marquee matchup, I’m expecting the young gunslinger to throw the ball early and often.
Tory Blaylock anytime rushing touchdown (+125)
In spite of an uninspiring offense, this Texas defense is championship-caliber. That could make scoring tough for Oklahoma, especially with John Mateer (hand) dealing with injury issues. The quarterback is expected to play, but he may not be operating at 100%. In a potentially hard-hitting matchup with plenty of pressure, establishing some kind of run game is crucial. The Longhorns have only allowed four rushing touchdowns on the ground. However, that’s an improvement over their secondary, which has only surrendered three scores so far.
If anyone other than Mateer is going to scramble into the end zone, it’s Tory Blaylock. The 5’11” speedster isn’t exactly a traditional bruiser out of the backfield. However, he’s seen his role increase as the season has gone along. In Week 1, the freshman only handled eight carries. Last week vs. Kent State, he saw 15 touches. Blaylock’s numbers are good, not great: 257 rushing yards and three TDs through five games. However, that’s more a reflection of his usage rather than his ability. With a banged-up superstar under center, Sooners head coach Brent Venables might give his RB1 a bigger workload.
