An intriguing prospect on the Prelims is Vitor Petrino, who is facing Thomas Petersen in a three-round Heavyweight contest. Petrino is coming off a first-round submission victory, while Petersen beat Don’Tale Mayes via decision in his previous bout.

Vitor Petrino to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (-110)

When Petrino entered the UFC in 2023 after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, he was 7-0 with six knockouts and looked like a future UFC title contender. But after winning his first four fights in the UFC, Petrino was finished in two consecutive fights against Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby.

Petrino moved up to the Heavyweight division and, after submitting Austen Lane in the first round, appears to be a threat once again. At 28 years old, Petrino continues to improve and evolve his game with each bout. Petrino enters Saturday’s bout as a -298 favorite as Petersen is a +240 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Although Petersen statistically is the better fighter, Petrino is the better athlete and has shown that when he’s at his best, he is hard to stop. Since nine of Petrino’s 12 wins have come by knockout or submission, getting Petrino at -110 to win by KO/TKO/DQ or submission is a good play.
