Heading into Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season, workloads, snap shares and other trends have been established across the league’s backfields. The fantasy RB landscape hasn’t played out as expected due to a myriad of injuries, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of tough decisions to make. With that in mind, let’s break down my fantasy football RB start/sit Week 6 picks.

Start ‘Em: Rhamondre Stevenson (Patriots) at Saints
The bad news? It feels like Rhamondre Stevenson fumbles at least once a game. The good news? It doesn’t matter. Mike Vrabel will not bench him, because he needs him.
As frustrating as it is to see Stevenson turn the ball over consistently, he’s still probably the team’s second-best offensive playmaker. Now, with Antonio Gibson out for the season with a torn ACL, he’ll remain the undisputed goal-line option and lead back while Tre’Veyon Henderson continue to adapt to the pros.
This week, Stevenson and the Pats take on a Saints defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing backfields. The veteran should see 15-20 touches and produce high-end RB2 value.
Sit ‘Em: Alvin Kamara (Saints) vs. Patriots
At the beginning of the season, most people would question my credibility for recommending starting Rhamondre Stevenson over Alvin Kamara. Some of you may still be questioning my credibility reading this right now.
The reality is, Kamara has been dealt a tough hand. While he still finds relative fantasy success as a safety blanket for Spencer Rattler, he’s rushing behind a porous offensive line and is now dealing with the emergence of Kendre Miller as a complimentary back.
Now, fresh off his lowest usage of the season, Kamara draws a stout Patriots run defense. New England allows the fourth-fewest rushing yards and fifth-fewest fantasy points to RBs per contest. The 30-year-old has failed to score double-digit PPR points in two of his last three contests, and there’s a strong possibility that happens again on Sunday.

Start ‘Em: Jacory Croskey-Merritt (Commanders) vs. Bills
Bill is… back?
After it looked like Croskey-Merritt would be stuck in RB committee purgatory, the talented rookie finally broke out last Sunday. Bill still didn’t see more than half of the team’s offensive snaps, but he did take 14 carries for 111 yards and two touchdowns, also hauling in a couple of receptions. Virtually every time he touches the ball, good things happen. The Commanders simply haven’t been giving him enough opportunities, but I have a feeling that’s about to change.
After yet another strong outing, Croskey-Merritt draws a favorable matchup against Chicago. The Bears allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing backfields, setting the stage for a second-straight massive fantasy performance.
Sit ‘Em: Jaylen Warren (Steelers) vs. Browns
Warren racked up three double-digit point outings to open the year, then was a late scratch against the Vikings in Dublin before Pittsburgh’s bye.
The bright side? The speedy dual-threat back is expected to return in full health this week. The downside? He’s facing the Browns, who have a legitimate case as the best defense in the NFL. Cleveland is allowing the fewest rushing yards per contest and the fourth-least passing yards. Better offenses than the Steelers’ have tried and failed to get anything going against Myles Garrett and company.
Warren could have PPR upside as a checkdown option for Aaron Rodgers, but expecting anything more than mediocre production isn’t realistic.
