Whether your pick lost in Week 5 or you just didn’t get the chance to join a survivor pool, you can join this survivor pool. In this survivor pool, you need to pick a team to win straight-up every week. However, once you use a team, you cannot use it again. You are eliminated from the pool if one of your picks loses. The players who survive the regular season without losing will split the grand prize of at least $50,000.
Week 6 Strategy
It has been a wild start to the season for survivor pool players. Last week, the Bills, Rams, Cardinals, Chargers and Eagles all lost outright as favorites. That did a number on huge swaths of survivor pool players, myself included. Since I have been eliminated, I will just be sharing my favorite picks for the people who have stayed alive or entered second-chance survivor pools.

Week 6 Survivor Best Pick
Packers over Bengals
The Packers are a prime pick in survivor pools this week. Through the first two weeks of the season, they looked like the best team in the NFL. However, they took a tough loss to the Browns in Cleveland, followed by a wild overtime tie against the Cowboys. Green Bay had a timely bye week in Week 5 and should bounce back strong. The Bengals just made a move for Joe Flacco to be their new starting quarterback. Flacco just beat the Packers a couple of weeks ago in Green Bay, but the Packers won’t let it happen twice. Flacco will only have a couple of days to learn the Bengals’ playbook, while the Green Bay defense has had two weeks to work out the kinks after giving up 40 points to Dallas. Among 34 qualified quarterbacks this season, Jordan Love ranks second in EPA+CPOE composite, and Joe Flacco ranks 33rd. Green Bay should come out of the bye week strong and get a win at home.
Week 6 Survivor Bold Pick
Steelers over Browns
It is always risky to take a team in a divisional matchup in survivor pools. There is so much familiarity between the coaching staff and players, making the games more unpredictable. Last week, the Patriots and the 49ers beat the Bills and the Rams as underdogs of over a touchdown in divisional matchups. It is also risky to go against the Browns, who already pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season against the Packers. However, this is a great spot for the Steelers. They had a bye week last week, giving them time to fix things that went wrong over the first month of the season. Meanwhile, the Browns are coming back from an emotional loss in London. Dillon Gabriel will be getting his second career start in a tough spot, flying home from London. The Steelers should be well-prepared for this game and get the win at home.
Week 6 Survivor Favorite to Avoid
Bills over Falcons
The Bills got upset by the Patriots last week, and it could be two straight losses for Buffalo. It looked great to start the season, but the win over the Ravens looks less impressive after seeing how bad Baltimore has been since then. The Bills’ other wins came against the Jets, Dolphins and Saints, three of the worst teams in the NFL. The Bills have still not quite proven their quality, and this is a tough spot. While they are coming off an emotional loss to a division rival in primetime, the Falcons are coming off a bye week. Atlanta has had two weeks to prepare for this game, and there should be a great Atlanta crowd for this primetime game. The Bills rank 28th in the NFL in defensive EPA/rush. Bijan Robinson should be able to move it on the ground and allow Atlanta to control the time of possession. This is a great spot for Atlanta, and not a good time to use the Bills in survivor pools.
