DeVonta Smith Best Prop Bets for Eagles at Giants on Thursday 10/8/25

Not all is sunny in the City of Brotherly Love: though the Philadelphia Eagles are 4-1 and would hold the NFC’s No. 1 seed if the playoffs were to begin today, they don’t quite look as dominant on either side of the ball as the team that romped its way through the NFC last season. Reports have surfaced that both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are unsatisfied with their roles in the offense.

Regardless, Smith has had a pretty good season, catching 25 passes for a team-leading 272 yards and one touchdown. He’s displayed much better chemistry with Jalen Hurts than Brown does despite Brown garnering the most targets. Hurts will hope to get both of his receivers involved tonight when the Eagles travel to face the New York Giants for an 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday Night Football matchup.

Philadelphia is a seven-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total set to 40.5. Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bets centered around Smith.

Best DeVonta Smith Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

DeVonta Smith 60+ Receiving Yards (+143)

It might be an overreaction to a small sample size, but Smith has established himself as the Eagles’ most reliable target this season and Philadelphia has leaned more into the pass in recent weeks. While Brown has been held to fewer than 10 receiving yards twice, Smith has amassed at least 50 in three of his last four games, and he led the team in targets in the Week 5 defeat against the Denver Broncos.

Saquon Barkley hasn’t been the game-changer he was last season — in fact, he has the fifth-lowest PFF grade among 50 qualified running backs and he ranks 12th-to-last in rushing yards over expectation per attempt — so the Eagles have allowed Hurts to let it fly. He attempted 32 passes against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3 and 38 last week. I’d expect Philadelphia to operate a pass-heavy scheme again tonight, especially since Barkley was limited in practice with a knee injury and might not be 100%.

Smith should have the chance to do some damage against a New York secondary that hasn’t been great this season. This season, the Giants have allowed the eighth-most passing yards, and though that’s mostly a function of volume than efficiency — opponents have attempted the third-most passes against them — Hurts should still be able to do damage because he ranks eighth league-wide in completion percentage over expectation. Smith can line up either in the slot or on the outside, and slot corner Andru Phillips has been a lot worse in coverage than outside corner Cor’Dale Flott. Phillips has also been more gettable after the catch, where Smith’s speed and agility comes into play.

DeVonta Smith Anytime TD Scorer (+250)

Smith has only found the end zone once this season, in the win over the Rams, but if Hurts keeps throwing the ball at the rate that he has over the last three games, it’s only a matter of time. He’s been a touchdown threat for his entire career, scoring seven or more scores in each of the past three seasons, and though he only scored one touchdown in the Eagles’ playoff run, it was the most memorable one, a dagger against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. He’s also received a team-leading four targets inside the 20-yard line this season, even if he’s only scored on one of them.

Plus, while New York has only allowed six passing touchdowns this season, tied for the eighth-fewest in football, five of those six have come against wideouts, which could take away Barkley as a receiving threat inside the red zone. The Giants have also yet to allow a rushing touchdown to a quarterback, so they’re well-equipped to stop Hurts’ Tush Push and instead incentivize Philadelphia to prioritize its aerial attack instead. Phillips alone allowed one touchdown on 48 targets last season as a rookie but has already conceded two in 39 targets so far in 2025. There are simply too many things working in Smith’s favor for me not to take this prop at +250.
