Tyrone Tracy ($7,000 for Showdown) has missed two games in a row with a shoulder injury, but the back is trending towards making his return Thursday vs. the Eagles. Tracy has been a limited participant in practice this week and Giants’ HC Brian Daboll is “optimistic” that Tracy will play, per the NYPost’s Paul Schwartz.
With Tracy sidelined for the last two games, Skattebo has been New York’s featured back and he has produced 13.0 and 15.4 FPTS in these contests. The rookie’s role has been immense, logging 71.8% of the snaps and handling 75.5% of the running back carries for the Giants, resulting in 20 carries per game. Skattebo has seen eight redzone carries and as a receiver, he is handling a 15.4% target share while running a route on 64% of his team’s dropbacks.
However, in the two full games Skattebo and Tracy have played together this season, Tracy has out carried Skattebo 15 to 14 and Tracy’s snap share has been at 57.8%, compared to 31.9% for Skattebo. Tracy was the clear starter in these games, but that shouldn’t be the case going forward. This backfield should be a pretty even split with both Skattebo and Tracy healthy, which is a hit to both player’s fantasy values. After seeing 20+ touches for back-to-back games, Skattebo’s usage will likely decrease to around 15 touches Thursday night with Tracy back in the mix.
Skattebo is producing a solid 0.36 FPTS per snap this season, so he is still a viable RB3/FLEX play for season-long leagues, but with Tracy returning, right now is a smart time to sell high on Skattebo in your fantasy leagues.
