Can you trust Elic Ayomanor as a fantasy football FLEX going forward?

The first big step in the Tennessee Titans’ rebuild was accomplished on Sunday. Head coach Brian Callahan and 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward finally got their first win. And it sure was a weird one.

Finally, a glimpse of hope in the Titans’ offense. Can this mean that another rookie, Elic Ayomanor, is headed for fantasy football flex territory?

Analysis

While Sunday was the breakout for the Tennessee passing game, Ayomanor did not play a huge role in this. It was Calvin Ridley who led the team with 10 targets, five catches and 131 yards. Ayomanor was one of five Titans to get four or five targets as Ward spread the ball around. He turned his four targets into two catches for 18 yards.

That ended a solid streak of production for Ayomanor. Before Week 5, Ayomanor had led the team in total targets and had at least a 72% snap share with at least five targets in each of the first four games. Then he put up his worst line since his debut game. But his connection with Ward in their game against the Rams gives us a glimpse of what could be.

So, can Ayomanor capitalize on his opportunity and vast physical potential? Or will this be a lost season in terms of fantasy production?

The verdict

One number matters here: 32. That’s the Titans’ NFL rank in passing yards, first downs and touchdown throws.

It’s possible that, even with high snap counts and target numbers, the efficiency won’t be there for Ayomanor to produce. If the team doesn’t get into the red zone, he’d have to be a catches and yards monster to stay afloat. And they haven’t even shown an ability to move the ball between the 20s.

Keep him as a bench stash, especially in deeper leagues. But until we see it on the field, don’t trust Ayomanor as a fantasy starter.
