Week 5 of the NFL season was another big one for tight ends, with three tight ends hauling in multiple touchdowns and nine posting over 15 fantasy points. While the position is always a volatile one, there are a few strong options that have emerged as go-to options for their NFL teams and their fantasy teams. As bye week season continues, let’s run down the top 15 TE Rankings for week 6.
One big absence from the tight end position in Week 5 was Brock Bowers, who was sidelined by a knee injury and is day-to-day heading into Week 6. He could be back this week, so I’ll include him where I would slot if he is able to get back in the mix. However, this week’s TE rankings won’t include the Vikings or Texans, who are on a bye week.
In Week 5, value option A.J. Barner (24.3 FPTS) led the way just ahead of Jake Ferguson (23.9 FPTS) and Theo Johnson (21.3 FPTS). Both Barner and Johnson were in my sleeper plays for Sunday, while Ferguson has been one of the top contributors of the season. Sam LaPorta (20.2 FPTS), Darren Waller (18.8 FPTS), David Njoku (18.7), Mason Taylor (17.7), Jake Tonges (17.1), and Dalton Kincaid (16.8 FPTS) were the other tight ends who posted over 15 fantasy points.
