A battle of unbeaten Big 12 teams takes place down south on Saturday evening as the No. 11 Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Space City for a meeting with the Houston Cougars. Both sides enter with a 4-0 record while coming off a bye week, so they’re rested and ready to battle for supremacy in the conference tilt which could have immense weight once the standings take shape over the coming weeks.

Texas A&M transfer Conner Weigman looks quite comfortable in his new home in Houston. His completion rate of 61.3% doesn’t jump off the page, but he’s thrown for 839 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception en route to a perfect 4-0 record. The game script point mentioned above is at the crux of this prop bet since if the Cougars trail to this elite Texas Tech offense averaging 52 points per game, Weigman may end up airing the ball out throughout the contest. That’s not a positive for his team, but it certainly is for bettors.
Weigman started the season a little bit slowly but has increased his passing totals in each game with 159, 188, 222 and a season-high 270 yards over his last four appearances. Granted, his matchup against the Red Raiders’ defense brings its share of challenges with a scary pass rush and a secondary allowing just 182.5 yards per contest.
