Perry competed in the UFC from 2016 to 2021 and had a 7-8 record. However, since then, Perry has entered BKFC and become the face of the sport, going 5-0. Stephens is also a UFC veteran and recently returned to the promotion in May. But now Stephens is back in BKFC, where he has achieved considerable success in the past, to take on Perry.

After fighting five times in two years for BKFC, Perry has had a lengthy layoff, as he last competed in bare-knuckle boxing in April 2024.
