Chris Gutierrez takes on Farid Basharat in a Bantamweight bout on the UFC 320 Prelims. Gutierrez has won two straight fights with his most recent victory coming against Jogn Cataneda in April. Basharat has an undefeated 13-0 record with seven finishes in his career and is making his first appearance since October 2024.
Here is my best bet for Chris Gutierrez vs. Farid Basharat at UFC 320.
Farid Basharat To Win By Decision (-185)
In this fight, Gutierrez is one inch taller (5’9″ vs. 5’8″), but Basharat has a four-inch reach advantage (71″ vs. 67″). On the feet, this bout is close, but on the ground, Basharat has a clear advantage. Basharat averages almost four takedowns per 15 minutes at a 44 percent rate.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Basharat is a big -485 favorite while Gutierrez is a +370 underdog in this contest. The over is 2.5 rounds for this contest and is set at -298. Since four of Basharat’s last five wins have come by decision, getting him to win on the judges’ scorecards at -185 is the best play.
Even though Basharat hasn’t been as active as Gutierrez, he is still a tough matchup for Gutierrez. Gutierrez does have a 70 percent takedown defensive rate, but it will be hard for Gutierrez to counter each takedown attempt. Basharat has landed three-plus takedowns in three of his four fights in the UFC. If Basharat brings the fight to Gutierrez and doesn’t allow him to get comfortable on his feet, he should be able to win by decision.
