Baylor is hosting Kansas State on Saturday afternoon of Week 6. The game will take place at 12:00 p.m. ET in Waco, Texas.

The Bears are 6.5-point home favorites in this game on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 61.5 points. This is a preview, prediction and pick for this Kansas State vs. Baylor Big 12 conference matchup.

Kansas State vs. Baylor prediction, preview

Kansas State Preview

The Wildcats could not have had a worse start to their season. Their star running back, Dylan Edwards, got injured on his first touch of the season. They proceeded to lose that season opener to Iowa State, then lost two of their next three. They started the season 1-3, with their lone win coming by three points against FCS North Dakota. However, they finally got a desperately needed bye week and came back from the bye week to beat UCF and get their first conference win of the season. Part of the reason they dominated UCF was that Dylan Edwards made his return to the field. Edwards rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown, proving that he is fully healthy ahead of this game. While it would take a miracle to win the Big 12, the reset of the bye week could at least have been what Kansas State needed to get their season back on track and win a few games.

Baylor Preview

Baylor is an exciting team to watch every week. Their quarterback, Sawyer Robertson, is one of the best in the country. Robertson leads the nation in passing yards and passing touchdowns so far this season. However, the Baylor defense has not been able to hold up its end of the bargain. In Week 1, Baylor gave up 38 points to an Auburn offense that has struggled ever since. Their only Big 12 loss of the season came in a tight one against Arizona State, where the defense just needed one stop to get the game to overtime. This is a tough Baylor team to play because of their incredible quarterback, but they have not been able to get everything to click. This is likely a must-win game if Baylor wants to stay alive in the Big 12 title race.

Kansas State vs. Baylor pick, best bet

This should be a competitive game between Kansas State and Baylor. Sawyer Robertson will always get his through the air, no matter the opponent. Kansas State ranks 66th in the nation in defensive EPA/pass, but 22nd in defensive passing success rate. That means that they will likely give up some deep shots to Robertson, but should be able to keep Baylor out of the end zone and get off the field on key third downs. The Kansas State offense should be able to control the tempo with its running game. Between Avery Johnson and Dylan Edwards, this is one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in college football, as they proved last week against UCF. Baylor’s defense ranks 97th in the nation in defensive EPA/rush, and Edwards should have another big game. This game will likely come down to one score in either direction, which is why my best bet is on Kansas State +6.

Best Bet: Kansas State +6 (-108)
