After seven weeks without a PPV, the promotion returns with UFC 320, headlined by Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2 for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship. Merab Dvalishvili defends his UFC Bantamweight title against Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event. UFC 320 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 4.
Alex Pereira is coming off a loss to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313, but it is a familiar position for the former two-division champion. The previous two times Pereira lost, he bounced back excellently. Pereira lost his MMA debut and followed that up with seven straight victories, with six knockouts. At UFC 287, Pereira lost to Israel Adesanya and won five consecutive bouts after that. Pereira’s journey to become one of the greatest fighters in UFC history wasn’t ordinary, and if anyone can get past the dominant Ankalaev, it is “Poatan”.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Ankalaev is a -270 favorite while the former title holder is a +220 underdog in this contest. This fight has an over/under of 4.5 rounds with the over being -120. Ankalaev is +120 to win by decision, while being +250 to pick up a knockout. Ankalaev is 21-1-1 in his MMA career and has a 14-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC and hasn’t suffered a defeat in the promotion since 2018. At UFC 313, Ankalaev outlanded Pereira 94-76 in significant strikes while having over five minutes of control time.
Merab Dvalishvili is making his third title defense against Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event. Dvalishvili has won 13 straight fights, which is tied for the third-longest winning streak in UFC history. If Dvalishvili can beat Sandhagen, he would tie Dominick Cruz for the fourth most title wins in Bantamweight history. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Dvalishvili is a massive -440 favorite while Sandhagen is a +340 underdog.
Dvalishvili is coming off a submission victory against Sean O’Malley in June at UFC 316 and has won three title fights in the previous 11 months. Dvalishvili’s nickname is “The Machine,” and it is a perfect fit for the champion, as his combination of cardio, pace, and versatile skill set is truly remarkable. Meanwhile, Sandhagen has won four of his last five contests, with his most recent one coming against former Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
The third fight on the Main Card is a phenomenal matchup between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr. Prochazka and Rountree both defeated Jamahal Hill in their last bout. Rountree beat him via unanimous decision while Prochazka won via KO/TKO. Prochazka is a -218 favorite while Rounteree is a +180 underdog. The winner of this fight could very well be next in line for a title shot.
