Quarterback
Stud
Byrum Brown, USF vs. Charlotte, $8,700
Byrum Brown is one of the best Group of Five quarterbacks in the country. He is averaging 245 passing yards per game, but is also an elite athlete. He can use his legs to create magical plays. Charlotte is a bad defensive team. They rank 100th in defensive EPA/pass and 87th in defensive EPA/rush. Whether Brown wants to use his legs or his arm, he should move the ball with ease against the 49ers. South Florida had a bye week last week, so Brown should be fresh and ready to go in this game.

Jack Layne, New Mexico at SJSU, $7,500
The pickings are slim in the quarterback department for this slate. West Virginia’s quarterback situation is a disaster, and some other teams on the slate might not score any points. Jack Layne is the best signal-caller to target if you aren’t willing to pay up for Byrum Brown. New Mexico is 3-1 and has started its season strong, partially due to the solid play of Jack Layne. The Idaho transfer is coming off his best game of the season, where he threw for 303 yards and four touchdowns. Excluding the season opener against Michigan, Layne has seven total touchdowns and no interceptions across those three games. San Jose State ranks 125th in the nation in defensive EPA/pass. Layne should be able to move the ball through the air and rack up numbers against the Spartans.

Danny Scudero, SJSU vs. New Mexico, $7,200
Danny Scudero has been exceptional for San Jose State so far this season. Last season, Nick Nash ranked second in the nation in receiving yards for the Spartans. Scudero has carried on his legacy, ranking third in the nation in receiving yards so far this season. He has at least 130 receiving yards in every game this season except the one against Texas. Against Mountain West competition, Scudero has been untouchable. He should have another big game in this Friday night battle against New Mexico.

Javen Nicholas, Charlotte at USF, $5,300
Charlotte has only been able to get one face of its offense going this season. They rank 136th out of 136 FBS teams in EPA/rush, but 47th in EPA/pass. They can’t run the ball at all, but they have a dangerous wide receiver duo, E. Jai Mason and Javen Nicholas. Nicholas wasn’t really a part of the game plan in Week 1 against App State, but stepped up in the battle against UNC. Against a team with much better athletes, Nicholas stepped up and caught 11 balls for 122 yards. He then took on a much bigger role in the offense and now leads the team in catches this season. He had 93 yards and a score in his last game against Rice and should carry that momentum over to this game.

Stud
Bear Bachmeier, QB, BYU vs. WVU, $7,900
Bear Bachmeier has been a great quarterback for BYU so far this season. Bachmeier was forced to step in as a freshman and assume the starting role after expected starter Jake Retzlaff transferred out late in the cycle. He has risen to the occasion, proving to be a weapon with his arm and his legs. West Virginia ranks 62nd in the country in defensive EPA/pass, so the Cougars should be able to move it through the air. Bachmeier also rushed for 98 yards last week against Colorado. It should be a good game for Bachmeier in front of his home crowd.

Chas Nimrod, WR, USF vs. Charlotte, $6,100
Chas Nimrod has been one of the best deep-ball threats in college football this season. The Tennessee transfer only sees a few targets a game, but they virtually all turn into big plays. He is averaging 91.8 receiving yards per game this season, despite only averaging 3.5 catches per game. He is averaging 26.2 yards per catch, the third-highest mark in the country among players with at least ten receptions. This game is a great chance for Nimrod to go off against Charlotte. The 49ers rank 100th in the nation in defensive EPA/pass. It should be a big game for the Bulls and Byrum Brown, with Nimrod being the main recipient.
