South Florida vs. Charlotte: Chas Nimrod Anytime TD (+100)
South Florida is in a great position to make the College Football Playoff if it can survive the gauntlet of the American Conference. The Bulls’ win over Florida has them in a prime position to get to the CFP if they win their conference. The Bulls’ quarterback, Byrum Brown, is one of the best at the Group of Five level. He is one of the hardest players to defend because he is so good with his legs and his arm. By far his favorite target this season has been Chas Nimrod. Nimrod has 367 receiving yards on the season, and almost all of them have come on explosive plays. Nimrod is averaging an astonishing 26.2 yards per catch. Coming off a two-touchdown performance against South Carolina State, he should score at least one more in this game against Charlotte. Charlotte ranks 100th in the nation in defensive EPA/pass and should get picked apart by Byrum Brown, setting Nimrod up for another huge game.
BYU vs. West Virginia: Bear Bachmeier 40+ Rushing Yards (-105)
Bear Bachmeier has stepped up to the plate for BYU this season. The Cougars’ expected starting quarterback, Jake Retzlaff, was forced to transfer late in the transfer portal cycle. That gave freshman Bear Bachmeier the chance to take on the starting role sooner than expected. Bachmeier has played great football, leading BYU to a 4-0 start. He has been able to get it done both with his arm and with his legs. He has been an efficient passer but has also done damage on the ground. Bachmeier is averaging 40.8 rushing yards per game and has four rushing touchdowns through four contests.
Bachmeier used his legs less in games that BYU won comfortably. However, in the first conference game of the season against Colorado, Bachmeier carried the ball 15 times for 98 yards. He is averaging 13.5 carries per game against Power Four opponents, compared to five carries per game against Group of Five or FCS opponents. Against a tough West Virginia team, Bachmeier should rely on his legs and get well over this number.
