The NFL season is onto Week 5 and there are far more ways to get involved in the action than just via traditional betting. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this season is Pick6 Fantasy Football!
Here are my top Pick6 plays for Thursday Night Football.
Brian Robinson Jr. More Than 15.5 Rushing Yards
The 49ers made a move to acquire Brian Robinson Jr. just before the season started. After Christian McCaffrey’s injury issues, they felt they needed to add more depth to their running back room. While McCaffrey seems totally healthy to start the season, Robinson has been seeing a few touches every game. San Francisco has playoff aspirations and won’t want to wear down McCaffrey during the regular season. Coach Kyle Shanahan should continue to give Robinson touches, but this week in particular. Playing on Thursday Night Football gives McCaffrey’s body less time to recover from last week, meaning Shanahan might want to lighten his load against the Rams. This should also be a run-heavy attack from the 49ers. The Rams’ defense ranks second in the NFL in EPA/dropback, but 20th in EPA/rush. Brock Purdy’s health is a concern for this game, but whether Purdy plays or not, Shanahan should lean on his run game. Robinson has rushed for at least 21 yards in every game this season and should clear this number on Thursday night.
Davante Adams More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving TDs
Davante Adams has been a touchdown machine throughout his career. Since 2020, nobody has more receiving touchdowns than Adams. Even after leaving Green Bay to start 2022, there was no real drop-off in production for Adams, despite playing on some bad Raiders and Jets teams. Since the start of that season, Adams still ranks third in the NFL in receiving touchdowns. This is the first time in his career not being the primary receiver, as Puka Nacua is the go-to guy for Matthew Stafford. However, Adams has thrived in that role, with less defensive attention than he would typically get. Adams has scored a touchdown in each of the past three games this season. He has eight end-zone targets this season, twice as many as anybody else in the NFL, and he has a great chance to find the end zone again in this game.
Christian McCaffrey More Than 15.5 Rushing Attempts
Christian McCaffrey is getting back to the level he was at in 2023-24 when he led the league in rushing. He was not the same guy when he returned from injury last season, and he ended up missing more time at the end of last season. He has been used in the receiving game almost more than he has in the passing game so far this season. His rushing numbers don’t look exceptional on their own, but McCaffrey ranks third in the league in scrimmage yards this season, behind only Puka Nacua and Bijan Robinson. McCaffrey has at least 17 carries in three out of four games this season, and he should clear this number once again. The Rams rank 20th in the NFL in defensive EPA/rush, compared to second in defensive EPA/dropback. Between that and Brock Purdy’s injury concerns, it should be a run-heavy attack from the 49ers.
