Best Christian McCaffrey Prop for 49ers vs. Rams TNF

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

The 49ers are beyond dinged up on a short week, particularly on offense. San Francisco travels to Los Angeles for a big divisional game in the NFC West, with both teams sitting at 3-1. However, the point spread on this one has grown towards the home favorite all week, as the Niners keep going down bodies. Already without the likes of George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk Nick Bosa, Brock Purdy, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings have all been ruled out.

That leaves Mac Jones with pretty limited options to throw the ball. Even with the majority of those pass catchers in during previous games, Christian McCaffrey as been busy as a reciever. Through four games, CMC has seen a whopping 43 targets thrown his way (almost 11 per game). That’s actually led to CMC having 80 more receiving yards than rushing yards on the season, but we’re going to stay away from the yards on this one.

McCaffrey has hauled in 31 receptions so far in 2025, and his role in the passing game can only go up with so many bodies in street clothes. I expect Mac Jones to not only be consistently looking for CMC as a check down, but the Niners to have some specific plays drawn up for their best player to catch the ball. It’s even possible with how thin the receiver position is, that we see CMC line up wide some, and see Brian Robinson Jr. in the backfield.

Game script here should also be in a good spot for the Niners to be throwing late, as the Rams are up to 8.5-point favorites leading up to kickoff. Give me CMC to haul in at least seven receptions for a small wager in this one.

NFL Pick: Christian McCaffrey OVER 6.5 Receptions (-122) – 0.5-units
