This week’s Main Event of Dana White’s Contender Series features a Middleweight bout between Vitor Costa vs. Damian Pinas. Costa is 8-1 while Pinas has a 7-1 record. Both fighters have had a relatively long layoff, as Costa last fought in September 2024, and Pinas’s previous bout was in December 2024.

Here is my best bet for tonight’s DWCS Main Event.

Winning Round: Round 1 (-135)

Damian Pinas is from Aruba and has won three straight fights by KO/TKO since suffering his first loss in March 2024. On the other hand, Costa lost his MMA debut in June 2021 but has won eight consecutive contests since then. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Pinas is a slight -130 favorite while Costa is a +110 underdog. This fight has an over/under of 1.5 rounds, with the under being -220.

Costa is a part of The Fighting Nerds, an MMA gym from Sao Paulo, Brazil. This gym has produced many top contenders in the UFC recently, including Jean Silva, Mauricio Ruffy, Carlos Prates, and Caio Borralho. Although a few of their fighters have come up short lately, they are still one of the most skilled gyms in Brazil.

Costa’s previous four victories have come in the first round, and he has six first-round wins in his career. Meanwhile, Pinas has six first-round finishes in his career as well. With that being said, my favorite play for this contest is getting the fight to end in the first round at -135.
