When you’re dealt an absolute stinker of a MNF game, as we have been with the winless Jets facing-off with the winless Dolphins, prop bets are what gets us all through the evening.
“But will either awful team even be able to score a touchdown?” That’s a fair question, yet it’s worth remembering that defense has been each squad’s downfall through three weeks. In fact, both New York and Miami have surrendered over 30 points per contest so far this season. There’s going to be plenty of trips to the end zone.

Jets vs. Dolphins First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
Justin Fields First Touchdown Scorer (+1200)
After sustaining a concussion and sitting out Week 3’s loss to the Buccaneers, Justin Fields has been cleared to return for Monday Night against the Dolphins. Fields’ scrambling ability has never been questioned at the NFL level, with the former 11th-overall pick even exceeding 1,100 rushing yards back in his sophomore campaign in Chicago. The big bodied QB has also utilized his athleticism at the goal line, with 21 career rushing touchdowns. Two of those TDs came back in Week 1 and, despite being ruled out last Sunday, Fields remains the lone player on the Jets’ roster to have garnered a carry inside the opponent’s five-yard line in 2025 — otherwise known as the highest leverage scoring area on the field. Miami has been quite susceptible to mobile quarterbacks, too. It’s a minor miracle that Josh Allen didn’t find the end zone against this unit in Week 3, but Daniel Jones did twice in Week 1, while Drake Maye registered a rushing score in Week 2. That looks like a pattern to me.
Ollie Gordon II First Touchdown Scorer (+1500)
Unlike New York, Miami does not employ a quarterback with the physical capabilities necessary to vulture touchdowns at the goal line. You may have heard, the Dolphins don’t like Tua Tagovailoa (+7500) taking hits. With the team’s long term short-yardage issues under Mike McDaniel, there’s even been some doubt about De’Von Achane (+500) and his ability to work between the tackles. Remember, in Miami’s explosive 2023 campaign, it was Raheem Mostert who led the NFL with 18 rushing TDs. That’s where Ollie Gordon enters the conversation. The rookie wasn’t really utilized in the opening two games of the season, but that changed in Week 3, with Gordon logging 15 snaps and turning that opportunity into nine carries, 38 yards and a score. Despite his limited time on the field, Gordon has handled 66.7% of Miami’s red zone rushing attempts and 100% of the team’s carries inside the opponent’s five-yard line. At 6’2 and 225 pounds, it’s not hard to see why that might be the case. The 21-year-old clearly has a role on this roster.
