Week 4 of the NFL season will conclude with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. In the first matchup, Breece Hall and the New York Jets will face the Miami Dolphins as both teams battle for their first win.
Justin Fields is returning to the field for the Jets after missing last week with a concussion. It has been a mixed bag of results for the Ohio State product to this point, but the offensive outlook shifts with him in the lineup. Hall had his best game so far this season in the lone matchup that Fields started and finished, and New York will look to find this level of production again tonight.
Looking at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, the Dolphins enter as 2.5-point favorites and hold -162 odds on the Moneyline. The Jets hold +136 odds of getting the outright victory, with the game total set at O/U 44.5 points.

Breece Hall to Record Over 58.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Through the first three weeks of the season, Breece Hall has tallied 38 rush attempts for 157 yards while adding 78 yards through the air. The Iowa State product ripped off 107 rushing yards in the opening week matchup with the Steelers, but was held to under 30 yards in each of the past two weeks. This successful rushing performance was also the only game Justin Fields started and finished. With Fields back in the fold and an intriguing matchup against a vulnerable Dolphins’ defense, this is a great chance to get back on track.
Miami enters its Week 4 matchup ranked 30th in points per game allowed and 27th in yards allowed. Looking just at their rushing defense, they rank 29th in rushing yards allowed, 28th in rushing touchdowns conceded, and 23rd in net yards per rush attempt. The Dolphins have also allowed the eighth-most rushing yards to running backs before contact this year, while the Jets have tallied the seventh-most yards before contact per carry. Count on New York having the advantage at the line of scrimmage and for Hall to have the opportunity to get to the second level and make some big plays happen.
In their three matchups thus far, the Dolphins have allowed over 58.5 rushing yards to the primary running back twice. James Cook rushed for 108 yards, and Jonathan Taylor ran for 71 yards against the Dolphins. While Rhamondre Stevenson was limited to 54 yards individually, New England rushed for 122 total yards as a team. Hall has averaged as many as 66.1 rushing yards per game over a season, and is a caliber of talent that he has not been able to put fully on display to this point. Count on him capitalizing on the favorable matchup and rushing for over 58.5 rushing yards for the second time this season.
Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown (+140)
Breece Hall has yet to reach the endzone this season, and I think this changes tonight. Through the opening three weeks, the Jets have seven total touchdowns, with four coming through the air and three on the ground. Fields leads the team with two rushing touchdowns, while Braelon Allen has added one. Allen has six red zone touches and four rush attempts on the season, while Hall has four red zone touches and two rush attempts inside the 20. Fields also has four red zone rushing attempts on the season.
While the threat of others taking the carries is legitimate, Hall is still the most talented back on the roster and one of the team’s most talented playmakers. He has 22 touchdowns in his career and has led the team in scores in back-to-back seasons. With nine touchdowns tallied in the 2023 season, the next-best total on the Jets was Garrett Wilson with three scores. Allen has taken on a more significant role, but don’t expect Breece Hall to be out of the picture completely.
Miami is allowing 1.3 rushing scores per game, which ranks 28th in the league. They gave up two against the Colts in the opening week, one to the Patriots, and James Cook successfully found paydirt last week. Look for Hall to make some big plays happen and have a chance at a long score, as well as being reintroduced to their red zone offense at a more regular rate. This matchup provides Hall with a great chance of getting back on track, and I am taking a swing on the +140 odds that he marks his first score of the season tonight. Expect this vulnerable Dolphins offense to open the door for some Jets scores and for Breece Hall to be a beneficiary.
