Carlos Ulberg is taking on Dominick Reyes in the Main Event of the UFC’s return in Perth, Western Australia. Ulberg is 8-1 in the UFC, while Reyes is 9-4 in the promotion. Ulberg is coming off a victory against former champion Jan Blachowicz, while Reyes recently knocked out Nikita Krylov.
Here is my best bet for the Main Event of this week’s UFC Fight Night.
Carlos Ulberg To Win By KO/TKO/DQ (-145)
Although Reyes is only one year older than Ulberg, their paths have been different. Reyes, 35, has a 9-4 record in the UFC and has been in the promotion since 2017. He has also fought for the title and was arguably the closest person to beat Jon Jones in 2020.
Eugene Baremen, the Head Coach at the renowned City Kickboxing in New Zealand, has led multiple fighters, including Israel Adesanaya and Alexander Volkanovski, to UFC gold. Ulberg is Baremen’s latest athlete, who is knocking on the doorstep of challenging for a title. But first, Ulberg has a tough test in front of him with Reyes.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Ulberg is the favorite at -250 as Reyes is a +205 underdog. The over/under of this fight is set at 2.5 rounds, with the under being -145.
Ulberg vs. Reyes is a phenomenal striking matchup and has the potential to be a special fight. Reyes has the power advantage, but Ulberg has the edge in precision and accuracy. Both fighters are 6’4″ with a 77″ standing reach. The “Black Jag”, Ulberg, has all the potential to become a UFC Champion and must deliver a spectacular performance against Reyes if he wants to seize the opportunity in front of him.
Ulberg has all the tools to secure the victory, and although his last two wins came by decision, seven of his previous 10 wins before that were by knockout or technical knockout. That is why it is a good value to get Ulberg to beat Reyes by KO/TKO/DQ at -145 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Reyes’ last three losses were all by knockout as well.
