LSU vs. Ole Miss best prop bets
Trinidad Chambliss 53+ rushing yards (-115)
All the talk in Oxford has revolved around Ole Miss’s newest quarterback. Ever since Austin SImmons’ injury in Week 2 (ankle), backup Trinidad Chambliss has been nothing short of phenomenal. The senior has thrown for 719 yards and four touchdowns. In addition, he leads the SEC with 11.6 yards per attempt. However, passing success could be difficult on Saturday. LSU has already flustered a pair of terrific passers in Cade Klubnik and DJ Lagway. It’s difficult to imagine anyone, even Chambliss, dominating this Tigers secondary.
With that being said, passing isn’t the only way to make an impact. Ole Miss’s QB is also a gifted scrambler. Through three games, Chambliss has gained 195 yards and two touchdowns as a rusher. It’s worth noting that most of this production came against Arkansas and Tulane. Saturday’s showdown is a whole different level of competition. However, as previously mentioned, the Tigers thrive at taking away big passing gains. If anything, Kiffin might opt for a safer, more run-oriented approach that keeps LSU’s offense on the bench. Don’t be shocked if Chambliss makes his biggest impact outside of the pocket tonight.
Bauer Sharp 28+ receiving yards (-116)
When discussing LSU’s pass catchers, names such as Aaron Anderson and Barion Brown garner the most excitement. However, All-American quarterback Garrett Nussmeier makes an effort to spread the ball around. That should be the case on Saturday, especially if Kiffin opts to double-team Anderson. Much like the Rebels, LSU would rather hold the ball for as long as possible. That means if the Tigers do throw the ball, it’s more likely to be a short or intermediate pass. The most obvious beneficiary of that game plan would be Bauer Sharp.
The former Oklahoma tight end is emerging as a weapon in Baton Rouge. Over his last two games, the senior has hauled in eight catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. It’s also worth noting that LSU has held a significant lead in all four of its contests this season. Going up against a dynamic Rebels offense, the Tigers might be forced to throw the ball. Last season, as a member of the Sooners, Sharp recorded a career-high 53 receiving yards vs. Ole Miss. With an elite quarterback throwing to him this time, the TE should put up similar, if not better, numbers.
