UPDATE: Today’s game between the Reds and the Pirates will start at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The Pirates and the Reds were supposed to square-off in an NL Central battle to start Thursday’s slate at 12:40 p.m. ET, but the contest will begin in delay thanks in inclement weather in the Cincinnati area.
It can not be overstated how massive a game this is for the Reds, who have dropped two in a row to their lowly division rival after briefly tasting a playoff spot as recently as Tuesday. With four matchups left on its schedule, Cincinnati enters play on Thursday tied with Arizona in the National League Wild Card hunt, one game back of the Mets.
Nick Lodolo will start this afternoon’s tilt for the Reds, while Braxton Ashcraft will get the nod for Pittsburgh. Lodolo sports a fantastic 3.44 ERA across 149.1 innings in 2025, yet Cincinnati has only won one of his last four outings. The Reds are -176 favorites in this spot on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
