October baseball is right around the corner, meaning it’s almost time for the 2025 MLB playoffs. Not every team has a spot locked up yet, though, making the final day of the regular season extremely important to several clubs.
The Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians all have playoff spots long locked up. The Houston Astros were officially eliminated Saturday, meaning all that’s left to decide on the American League side of the bracket is the seeding order.
As for the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres have all clinched. The New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds are left fighting over one last Wild Card berth. The Miami Marlins, meanwhile, were eliminated Thursday night, and the Arizona Diamondbacks joined them on Friday.
