The third round of the Carabao Cup continues on Wednesday as Tottenham host Doncaster.

Mathys Tel has played second fiddle to Richarlison as Tottenham’s number nine this season, which is why I think Tel gets the start on Wednesday as the focal point of the Spurs attack. Richarlison has notched 348 Premier League minutes this season, while Tel has only played 98.
Tottenham paid €40 million for Tel this summer, and will want to see more of their investment. What better game for the 20-year-old to start than a home Carabao Cup game against League One opposition? I think Spurs manager Thomas Frank will give the Frenchman the start, and ultimately, I expect him to deliver against such inferior opposition. Tottenham will likely make other changes outside of the number nine position, but should still have a huge advantage in terms of quality on the pitch, which should lead to chances being created for Tel to get on the end of. I think the young striker will find a way to get on the scoresheet on Wednesday night and add to his 31 career goals.
Doncaster have certainly been vulnerable defensively this season, conceding 10 goals in their first nine league matches. Tottenham pose a much better attacking threat than they are used to, which is why I expect a few goals from the North London side on Wednesday. Hopefully, Tel can find a way to be one of the goal scorers.
