Tigers at Guardians game delayed due to rain Wednesday 9/24/25

UPDATE: Tigers at Guardians is expected to begin at 7:15 p.m. EST.

The start of Wednesday evening’s matchup between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians has been delayed due to rain.

First pitch was initially scheduled for 6:40 p.m. EST at Progressive Field but inclement weather in the area will prevent the contest from starting on time. The new start time has not yet been announced.

DraftKings Sportsbook lists the Guardians as -144 home favorites on the Moneyline tonight. The Tigers are +119 underdogs with the run total set at an even eight.

Tanner Bibee (4.34 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 157 SO) starts for Cleveland against Detroit’s Jack Flaherty (4.60 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 182 SO).

This matchup is a crucial one for both sides as these teams enter tied for the AL Central lead at 85-72. Including tonight’s game, there are two contests remaining in this series which could potentially shape the seeding in the MLB Postseason race.
