Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens: MNF (8:15pm ET)
I’m very high on the Baltimore Ravens on MNF, hosting a Detroit Lions squad that I’m not sold on. The last time these two teams played was in primetime in Baltimore almost two years ago, and the Ravens rolled to a 38-6 victory. I’ve laid the points as my largest wager of the NFL season thus far, and expect the Ravens to win by double digits.
If Baltimore does indeed roll, it’ll involve hitting some big plays. While targets for DeAndre Hopkins have been limited, he’s been the focus of some home run balls from Lamar Jackson. Hopkins has been targeted just four times through two games, catching all four for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Pretty efficient.
Hopkins is being used less (28 snaps on the season), but when the Ravens put him out there, they are utilizing him. Three of his four receptions have gone for at least 23 yards, which is well over where the long reception prop is set on D-Hop. Meanwhile, the Lions have already allowed seven different pass-catchers to bring in a reception of 15-plus yards through two games.
I don’t love that we won’t get a ton of opportunities here, but it just takes hitting one play to get us there. Hopkins has answered the call when his number has been called, and Detroit’s defense is a good matchup to continue to rip off big plays.
NFL Pick: DeAndre Hopkins Long Reception OVER 13.5 Yards (-115) – 0.5-units
