Could this be a preview of this season’s Super Bowl? It’s certainly possible. The Ravens’ offense has looked unstoppable in the first two weeks of 2025, hanging 40 points on both the Bills and the Browns. Meanwhile, the Lions rebounded nicely from an underwhelming Week 1 performance by dropping 52 points on the hapless Bears.
For those keeping track at home, that’s a lot of points and a lot of touchdowns. I’m certain we’ll see a lot more trips to the end zone on Monday Night Football this evening, but for the purposes of this article, it’s the first trip that matters most. Let’s break down some prop bets for tonight’s first touchdown scorer.
Lions vs. Ravens First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
David Montgomery First Touchdown Scorer (+950)
We all know that David Montgomery is in a committee with Jahmyr Gibbs (+750). It’s one of the best RB tandems in all of football. We also all know that Montgomery is the thunder to Gibbs’ lightning, meaning that if the Lions are down close to the goal line, it’s the big-bodied Montgomery that is going to get the football. In fact, through two weeks, Montgomery has handled 100% of the team’s carries inside the opponent’s five-yard line, leading to a one-yard touchdown plunge in Week 2. It’s not like this is a new phenomenon, either. From 2023 to 2024, Montgomery’s racked up 25 rushing scores — the fourth-most of any running back in the NFL. On another team with fewer weapons, Montgomery would never see odds this long as the first touchdown scorer. Take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Mark Andrews First Touchdown Scorer (+1300)
I don’t think it can be overstated just how much of a monopoly Zay Flowers (+800) currently has on Ravens’ targets. After finishing Week 1 with target on 40.9% of his routes — the third-highest mark in the NFL — Flowers received a target on a whopping 34.9% of his routes in Week 2. The result of that type of volume is pretty simple: Flowers has 20 targets and no other player on Baltimore’s roster is even in double-digits. That said, there’s no longer any real value in backing Flowers in this market, so let’s take a chance on Mark Andrews. The veteran tight end has been limited to a microscopic seven receiving yards through two games in 2025, yet half of Andrews’ four targets have been in the red zone. This after Andrews led the team in red zone targets (15) and receiving touchdowns (11) last season. With Isaiah Likely still injured, Andrews easily remains the Ravens’ go-to man in high leverage spots near the goal line.
