After an emphatic win over Pittsburgh, the Seahawks are looking to kickstart a winning streak. That means taking care of business against a winless foe. Although the Saints are rebuilding, the team kept things close against the Cardinals and 49ers. Can New Orleans finally take down an NFC West squad? Below, I’ve laid out my preview, prediction, and best bet for Sunday’s showdown between the Saints and Seahawks.

Entering 2025, the Saints were expected to rank amongst the NFL’s worst clubs. So far, that fruition has come true, to an extent. New Orleans has dropped its first two games, both at home. However, the team managed to keep things within one score against Arizona and San Francisco. The biggest question for this group in the offseason was under center. Second-year pro Spencer Rattler won an uninspiring training camp battle at quarterback. Through two games, the South Carolina alum has thrown for 421 yards and three touchdowns. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers, but it’s better than most analysts expected.
First-year head coach Kellen Moore, a former QB himself, loves throwing the ball. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the Saints rank fourth in football with 40.0 pass attempts. While the results haven’t been terrible so far, that’s not a sustainable model to pick up wins. New Orleans has gotten solid production out of its backfield, led by veteran Alvin Kamara. The five-time Pro Bowler has gained 144 rushing yards and a touchdown so far. A solid performance on the ground might prove difficult on Sunday. The Seahawks have held opponents to just 3.4 yards per carry, the sixth-lowest mark in football.
Defense has been mediocre, albeit not terrible, for New Orleans. The team has surrendered 310.0 yards per game to opponents, 14th-best in football. Granted, 49ers backup QB Mac Jones carved this group up for 279 yards and three touchdowns last Sunday. That doesn’t bode well going into a matchup with former Pro Bowler Sam Darnold. Seattle’s newest passer hasn’t been great in the early going (445 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT). Still, Week 2’s showing vs. the Steelers was a clear sign of improvement. It helps that he’s supported by the two-headed monster of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet at running back.

Best Bet: Seahawks -7.5 (-105)
Props to New Orleans for playing competitive football out of the gates. However, a trip to the Pacific Northwest is a bit different from hosting games at the Superdome. All it’ll take is a poorly timed Rattler turnover or two to give Seattle a decisive advantage. Expect the Seahawks to win this one by multiple scores.
