Let’s wrap up Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season! Monday Night Football has the potential to make or break your week as the last game of the slate. With that in mind, it’s time to highlight my start/sit fantasy football picks for Ravens vs. Lions on MNF.

Start ‘Em: Jared Goff
Everything is trending up for Detroit’s signal caller heading into one of the most anticipated MNF matchups of the season. After a lackluster showing against Green Bay’s stifling defense, Goff torched the Bears for a whopping 334 passing yards, five touchdowns and 34 fantasy points. That performance was good enough to skyrocket the veteran up to QB6 on the year.
On paper, the Ravens’ defense is a tough task for quarterbacks to dismantle. On the football field, that hasn’t been the case this year.
Baltimore is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs. A huge chunk of those were inflicted by the hands of Josh Allen, which is no shocker, but Joe Flacco also put together a decent week with a subpar Browns supporting cast. Fresh off an offensive outburst that resembled the Lions’ offense of the last two years, I expect Goff to wheel and deal on Monday.
Sit ‘Em: David Montgomery
As a David Montgomery truther for the entirety of his career, I must admit… I am concerned. His weak production in the season opener could be chalked up to Green Bay’s stifling defensive line, but only managing 13.1 PPR points and 12 touches in a 52-21 rout of the Bears? That’s noticeable for all the wrong reasons.
In the past two years, Montgomery has dominated on the ground in blowouts, grinding away at opposing defenses with 20 or 25 carries. This year, it appears his usage may be held in check by the Lions to avoid injury risk at 28 years old. Meanwhile, the reigning fantasy RB1 is also seeing a significant downtick in touches, as Jahmyr Gibbs only received 15 opportunities.
With Ben Johnson out of the picture, it seems the Lions are looking to throw the ball more. That’s bad news for their RB2, making me wary of his outlook against Baltimore.
Start ‘Em: Sam LaPorta
LaPorta took a step back in Week 2, but there’s reason to believe that was due to game script. Detroit jumped out to a big early lead against the Bears and never relinquished it. While the star tight end was on the field for 85% of offensive snaps, he was only targeted four times, catching three of them for 26 yards. Instead, it was Brock Wright who found the end zone, finishing with 11.8 fantasy points.
While some fantasy managers may be concerned after this game shared similarities to LaPorta’s underwhelming usage throughout last year, I believe it was an outlier thanks to the blowout. In Detroit’s only other contest, which was actually competitive, the 24-year-old received nine targets, catching six of them for 79 yards.
The Ravens have also struggled mightily against opposing tight ends, allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position in 2025. LaPorta should be heavily involved in this marquee matchup.
Sit ‘Em: Mark Andrews
I’ll keep this one short. Andrews has operated as Baltimore’s undisputed top tight end with Isaiah Likely sidelined. He has seen a 77.5% snap share through two contests, but has caught just two balls for seven yards.
Andrews cannot be trusted under any circumstances until he proves his fantasy value again.
