Do you have tough lineup decisions to make on Sunday? I’ve got you covered. Welcome to your one-stop shop for Week 3 fantasy football start/sit advice. Quarterback
Start ‘Em: Caleb Williams (Bears) vs. Cowboys
The Bears haven’t been able to improve upon last year’s struggles from a record standpoint yet, but the offense has objectively looked much cleaner under Ben Johnson so far. Unsurprisingly, Caleb Williams has been the biggest beneficiaries. The second-year signal caller is getting off his reads quicker, not holding onto the ball as long, and just being more decisive in general.
As a result, Williams’ fantasy production has been that of a low-end QB1. The former No. 1 overall pick checks in as QB9 entering Week 3 with 24.2 and 18-point outings, respectively. We’ve also seen legitimate rushing upside from Williams, similar to his USC and Oklahoma days.
This week, Williams and the Bears draw a pitiful Cowboys secondary. Dallas has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, fresh off a nightmarish showing against Russell Wilson, who dropped 450 passing yards and three touchdowns. Fire up Chicago’s QB with hopes of a strong QB1 finish.

Running Back
Sit ‘Em: David Montgomery (Lions) at Ravens
As a David Montgomery truther for the entirety of his career, I must admit… I am concerned. His weak production in the season opener could be chalked up to Green Bay’s stifling defensive line, but only managing 13.1 PPR points and 12 touches in a 52-21 rout of the Bears? That’s noticeable for all the wrong reasons.
In the past two years, Montgomery has dominated on the ground in blowouts, grinding away at opposing defenses with 20 or 25 carries. This year, it appears his usage may be held in check by the Lions to avoid injury risk at 28 years old. Meanwhile, the reigning fantasy RB1 is also seeing a significant downtick in touches, as Jahmyr Gibbs only received 15 opportunities.
With Ben Johnson out of the picture, it seems the Lions are looking to throw the ball more. That’s bad news for their RB2, making me wary of his outlook against Baltimore.

Wide Receiver
Start ‘Em: Wan’Dale Robinson (Giants) vs. Chiefs
Robinson’s ownership percentage is expected to more than double on Wednesday when most waivers clear, as the shifty slot receiver has reemerged as a fantasy-relevant option once again. No matter the QB, Wan’Dale finds a way.
Robinson saw 10 targets in Week 2’s dramatic loss to the Cowboys, turning them into eight receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown. That was good for a whopping 28.2 fantasy points, the fifth-best total of the slate at WR. While Malik Nabers remains Russell Wilson’s top target on the deep ball, Robinson is locked in as the Giants’ No. 2 weapon.
The 24-year-old’s heavy involvement should return strong production once again this Sunday night against the Chiefs, who are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Fire up Robinson as a strong WR2.

Tight End
Sit ‘Em: Harold Fannin Jr. (Browns) vs. Packers
Fannin will certainly be a popular waiver wire target after two productive weeks, but I’ll give you one reason why you should avoid the rookie:
The Packers defense.
Yes, Fannin has drawn 14 targets through two contests and turned them into 12 receptions for 111 yards. Yes, he may have surpassed David Njoku as the top tight end on the roster. Allow me to repeat myself: You do not mess around with the Packers defense. Micah Parsons and company have now terrorized two of the NFL’s best offenses in Detroit and Washington. With all due respect to Joe Flacco and the Browns, they are not even close to the Lions or Commanders in quality.
Barring a wild turn of events, the Browns will struggle mightily. Fannin will get other chances to produce at a high level, but this is not one of them.
